IPL Treatment

Intense pulsed light (IPL) is a cosmetic skin treatment. It is most commonly used to reduce the signs of aging such as wrinkles and thread veins. It is my preferred treatment method for reducing Acne and other uses include reducing the appearance of scars, lightening darker patches of skin, and improving the appearance of spider veins.

IPL works in a similar way to laser therapy. The difference is that where laser therapy delivers a single wavelength of light energy, IPL delivers multiple wavelengths. This means that IPL can treat a larger area of skin in a shorter time than laser therapy. Using a handheld device, I can target multiple wavelengths of light onto the skin. This light heats cells in the skin and breaks them down. The body then removes the damaged tissue naturally and there is no lasting damage.

The length and number of sessions needed will depend on each individual’s treatment plan. It is worth noting that it can take anything up to several weeks to notice the results of IPL treatment.

I am a certified AW3® professional and operate only the latest technology, IPL treatment is carried out using the AW3® Flash 1 Plus system.

Acne Reduction

Acne is the most common skin condition and is experienced by people of all ages, some more severely than others. Acne, medically referred to as acne vulgaris, is a skin disease that involves the overproduction of oil in the sebaceous glands. The clogging of pores leads to bacterial infection, painful inflammation, and unsightly blemishes. Although acne is largely experienced by adolescents, almost 20% of all acne cases are experienced by adults.

IPL treatment is a fast, effective procedure for acne treatment. The light from the IPL device interacts with Porphoryn, an element of our biological pigments. The reaction caused releases oxygen, which helps kill the bacteria causing the acne., it also stimulates the production of new collagen, which helps repair the damage caused by acne infection. IPL usually results in a long-term improvement of acne, and of overall skin health and texture.

Hannahs IPL and Laser Clinic offer a free consultation so you can discuss your acne problems and find the best course of treatment to restore your confidence by killing those spots. Please note all treatments are subject to a consultation and an initial patch test before we can began.

Thread Veins

Thread veins are very common affecting around 30% of the population and can affect both men and women. The exact cause of thread veins (also called spider veins) is not fully understood but they can be hereditary and associated with changing hormones and exposure to extreme weather. Sadly they can look very unsightly and be a common reason for people to cover up in the sunshine or feel unable to wear shorts, dresses or skirts and be comfortable.

Fortunately with advances in technology, we are able to use IPL treatment to effectively reduce and remove thread veins across all areas of the body. The most common treatments are for thread veins on the legs, chest and face.

The number of treatments depends on the body area and the severity of the thread vein but in our experience most patients require 1-4 treatments and these are timed about one month apart.

Like all of our treatments, IPL Thread Vein removal is subject to a free consultation and a patch test prior to treatment so get in touch with Hannah today to discuss how Thread Vein removal can get rid of those ugly veins for good.

Wrinkle Reduction

Wrinkles are one of the most obvious signs of aging. They’re difficult to hide and even more difficult for most types of conventional treatments to fix. However time can be slowed down by technology and with IPL treatment we are able to treat wrinkles more successfully than ever before.

As a non-invasive technique, it can successfully minimize wrinkles while replenishing the beauty of your skin. Another advantage of IPL treatment for wrinkles is the way it works. Rather than focusing on temporarily filling the missing collagen, IPL works to rejuvenate the collagen layers. This results in an incredibly natural and long-lasting solution for treating wrinkles.

While IPL can be used with patients or any age and any skin type, all of our treatments are subject to a free consultation and skin patch test before commencing.
